This may sound dumb, but has anybody ever thought about ziplining down powerlines? The problem of electricution can be solved with some sort of suit, i'm sure...and running into the next pole could be avoided by attaching a bungee cord to the first spot. BTW i'm not talking about city powerlines...i'm talking about the big huge towers out in the country and deserts. if you have any ideas or problems to solve then post it!!! thanks! :-)

WTF! Seriously! WTF! It is obvious to me that you have no clue how basic electricity works, nor how high voltage systems work either, otherwise you would not be asking such a stupid question!!!
Dude! You try that shit and you will end on ''Amazing videos caught on tape'' or you will be that guy you hear about in the ''weird news from around the world'' and it wo not be in a good way either!
Do not do it!

That does sound like a really bad idea. Plus the powerlines sag in the middle right, so once u started off on one (assuming u had not been electrocuted yet) you'd get to the middle & not have enough momentum to get up the other side. So you'd be stuck hanging from a high-voltage powerline in the middle of the desert, & if u did manage to call the emergency services they'd have to be Very wary of getting u down, & you'd be arrested.
If u r interested in some extreme ziplining, there r a few in Europe, probably some in NZ, & maybe some in America that r several miles long & go from mountain peak to mountain peak. Look into that instead.

Nobody has ever done this or tried it because u would be killed when u connected yourself to the power line - there is no kind of protection or insulation that would make this safe & it would be the same as suicide.
Not only is this a death wish it is trespassing & illegal.
Every year, hundreds of large birds r killed when trying to land on high voltage power lines when they r too close to another line or something like a tower that is grounded - they r literally fried to death. Please do not join them.
Good Luck (with other pursuits)

Those power lines have anywhere from 250,000 to 2 million volts coursing through them. Granted the current is low, that is enough to send ur heart into fibrillation, & even vaporize u if u fuck up. The moment u come close to the powerlines, & u r connected to the ground, ur body will become an arc. It is highly unlikely that u could survive such a blast. Assuming u somehow figured out how to get onto the powerlines without killing yourself, once u stop in the center u have to figure out some way to get to the ground without touching the lines.there r many issues here, not to mention the trespassing issues.damage to public property.pay the 10 bucks to go on a real zipline. l would be astonished if u succeeded (and survived) a feat like that. A faraday cage suit will not protect u well in a situation like that.please do not attempt this.
