im going to climb Mt Everest in 2 yrs(when i am 15) any info or advice that i need

Well im not sure if this is true. u would be the youngest climber to reach the top if u do. l think the youngest was an 18 year old girl. so u got 3 years on her. but u probably wont make it. ur lungs will not be mature enough for those harsh conditions. First thing l would recommend reading '' no shortcuts to the top'' by Ed Viesturs. He is one of the worlds best climbers & the book has a lot of good info. second start saving unless u r super rich or have connections then its gonna cost u some of the cheapest trips l have seen run 60,000 dollars. And always take into consideration the amount of people who have died on everest, some of the worlds best & top athletes perish on everest so u at 15 could easliy not make it . Also if u have to ask someone on tips then ur not ready these huys usually have yeasr of mountaineering skills & r highly trained it sounds like u wathced a discovery channel show & decided u want to climb everest.

You r going to have to climb in Tibet to start - Nepal will not give u a permit if u r under 16 (it might even be 18 now).

What have u climbed so far? The most important thing u will need is experience .. to get ur permit & to survive & not put ur life & the lives of the people in ur group in danger u need to get to the hills. You need to get some serious altitude under ur belt - & lots of it.

The youngest person to climb Everest thus far is Ming Kipa Sherpa - who was 15. She climbed the Tibetan side . but she is got high-altitude in her blood.

Get some big peak experience, practice climbing in the cold & at high altitudes. Have u ever climbed a 14,000ft. peak yet? l would suggest a lot of smaller peaks - these should be VERY easy for u if u r even going to consider Everest.

Are u planning on climbing Denali? l climb with several people that have summited & they say it was the hardest thing they had ever done & had no interest in doing Everest when they were done. l would start there.

start saving money now climbing Everest is very expensive.

l would suggest that u put in place an intensive & regular training plan that include cardio & physical conditioning, load bearing training.

An alpine or mountaineering course would equip u with some of the necessary mountain survival skills (eg self arrest, ice climbing). Nothing beat gaining experience through acutal climbing trips. So l do recommend tthat u climb the alpine peaks in ur country or/and outside ur country. Try to climb one of the major peaks in Himalaya or Karakorum region before the climb in Everest. Cho oyu in Tibet is the peak that most people would climb before their Everest climb. Of course, there r others who choose to climb other peaks around 7000 meters.

If there is a mountaineering or alpine climbing association/club around you, u should get in touch with them. You might be able to find someone who is experience in climbing these big peaks to give u valuable advise. It would be better if he/she could be ur mentor. They would put u on the right track.

However, Nepal does not issue climbing permits to anyone under 18 years old. l am not sure if Chinese Mountaineering Association has passed any new age limit that would restrict climbers under the age of 18 to climb Everest. Do check with the Everest outfits that u sign up with. You do not want to end up paying so much for an Everest climb but end up just staying at the base camp.

If u have already set ur sight on climbing Everest but is unable to do that at 15 years old, do take the years ahead to prepare for it. You can always do it when u r 18.
