l have low blood pressure and am prone to getting light-headed.I'd like to try mountain climbing and am aware that the thin air at high altitudes can cause spaciness.I am wondering if low blood pressure and high altitude can interact with or compound each other, and if those with low blood pressure are more adversely affected by high altitudes.Thanks!

not a good idea. you should be in good health when climbing

if ur prone to getting light headed down in low elevations then it will be even worse in high elevations where there is less oxygen.

l had very low blood pressure when l was younger & would often get light headed ( l live at 5500ft) but never had any problems at altitiude - even at 14,000+ft. Some people r not affected much & others r - l do not believe this has to do with altitude.

Not all climbing involves high altitudes - l would try hiking some smaller mountains first & see how u feel. You may have more normal blood pressure when u exhert yourself.

You could also just try rock climbing - which does not always involve altitiude if u do climbs starting at lower elevations.
