Is there a product, (such as a glue-like substance, liquid rubber, or a spray) that makes the soles of climbing shoes sticky again?

l have never had any problems with my shoes losing their stickiness. l always make sure to clean them each time l am finished using them & allow them to dry in a cool place. Excessive heat can warp the rubber & excessive wear can do the same. You will either need to get new shoes (which is better than getting a pair resoled) or try the ''clean & scrub'' method to freshen up the rubber. Here is a link to a quick paragraph written by the Mountain Equipment Co-Op regarding shoe maintenance if u want to read more:

It is worth a shot to save ur shoes.otherwise, I'd buy new ones. l know l would not trust MY life on some spray-on substances! :o)

Take care & rock on! ;o)

Probably your best bet is to get your shoes resoled.

Or take a wire brush and rough up the surface a little bit to revitalize it.

Alrighty-dighty. So, l do not believe that there is something that will re-stick ur climbing shoes, but hey, maybe they r inventing something right now. It seems to me that if there were such a product, it would rub off as u climb on the rocks. l think that the best thing that u can do is to go to a climbing store, or G. l Joe's/RE l & have them re-sole ur climbing shoes. They will just replace ur current sole with a new one, but it depends on how much ur shoes costed before, u may want to just go & get a new pair, because l do not think that re-soling ur shoes is gunna' be cheap.
Mucho Mucho luck to you!

Try soaking the soals in hot water and scrubing w/ a toothbrush.

You do NOT need to get them resoled - in fact l would recommend against it as shoes do not always fit the same after being resoled.

If u have had a pair of rock shoes for many years, this will happen - the rubber will oxidize & get hard on the surface. You can have a thin layer of the rubber ground off or use a wire brush to buff off the layer of hardened rubber.

l have an old pair of trad shoes that l only use a couple of times per year & this always does the trick.

Good Luck

Never heard of any . You can resole them but it is relatively expensive and the results are never equal to a new shoe. Plus shoes also get lose after use, etc. So buy new shoes and use these in a gym.
