what are some cues l can use to teach kids to climb a climbing net?

put them in a spiderman costume.. i'm sure they will look for more nets to climb.

the best way to teach, is to show them how its done. do it yourself, they will have the confidence to do it once they have seen it done.

Tell them to concentrate on their legs. To keep their center over their weight bearing foot.

climbing by number, get them to climb at number ten, big long reaches, then number 1 smallest possible moves, they will soon work out 5 medium moves is best.

Traversing in general is good. ie not higher than a couple of metres

Teams of 4, 2 teams, traversing start at opposite ends & they have to pass each other with out falling off. u can advance this by blind folding one & the other 3 talk them through it.

Climbing with small balls or cloth sacks held in hand, reduces the tendancy to rely on hands instead of feet.

Stick pointing, they work in small teams, a long stick or can is used to point to the next hold that the person on the wall has to use, not using anything else.

Elimination, start be using all holds, on the way down each child can ring a hold in chalk, which is then out of bounds for the next, & so on..

you just need to be creative, its endless, just keep it fun & relaxed.
