Climbing up and down the stairs

My friend is curious to know if running up and down the stairs will help in losing weight.

If so, how many flights per day????

If you attempt to run up and a 10 story building 3 times each session at your fastest pace. The feeling is almost like running 1.6km.

it is exercise so it is guaranteed to burn calories, l think many flights are necessary

Yes it will but l advise not to run, instead walk briskly as you do tire very easily when running up & down stairs !

This will obviously burn a lot of calories, but climbing stairs also builds muscle which will also burn calories even when u r not exercising & will boost ur metabolism.

Remember that strength training & building muscle wo not drop weight as fast as just pure aerobic exercise like the treadmill because muscle is heavy, but u will be heathier with more lean muscle.

This is what many mountain & rock climbers do to get in shape for very difficult climbs.

well any amount is good it will really work on his legs and yes it will make him loose weight just tell him to keep going till he cant go anymore and then walk down the stairs
