In group discussion we wanted to know how persons take care of basic needs reaching summits of mountains !

Basic needs? Like pooping & peeing?

Peeing - if l am out & about, l just pee (it is easy for me, l am a guy). If l am in a tent, l pee in an old water bottle & empty it out in the morning. For woman, if they r out & about, probably any convenient spot, while trying ot find some privacy (on tundra or above treeline, this might be difficult, so others in the party just turn around). Funnels & specialized devices can allow woman to pee into a bottle at night. Some specialized devices allow woman to pee standing up.

Pooping - As fast as l can. In the States, many places require u to pack out ur poop in a plastic bag (Mt. Rainier for example). Other places require u to bury ur poo, but carry out the soiled toilet paper. When l was in Antarctica, l pooped as fast as l could (it is cold down there!) after digging a hole in the snow. Afterward, l buried it.

l also carry baby wipes to clean my hands, as well as hand sanitizer.

1. Appropriate Clothing & hiking shoes. Be prepared for cold temperature, the grassland & rain. Possibly of lightweight material.
2. Food. Be careful against spoilage, insects & rodents.
3. Backpack loading. Keep it lightweight.Bring only the essentials. Be sure of ur tents as to waterproofing.
4. Equipment & gears. Dont forget ur rope, maps & compass. So with lamps, extra batteries, cook set & stove.
5. Prepare yourself physically & mentally.
