l have asked this question before...i am looking for multiple responses if possible....l own a Beal rope its turqoise 50m UIAA 0120l have been rapelling with it and just wanna know if this rope is ok to use for reppetitve rapels...the rope is very (bungee) stretches quite a bit...im just concerned and wanna be 100% sure its ok to use for rapels. Thanks

If the rope is static then it is perfect for rappelling because it does not stretch as much, but not good for climbing because if you fall it will put a lot more force on your body. That is why if you want a climbing rope you want it to be dynamic.

My Beal rope, & everyone else's, has the same UIAA #, UIAA being the standard authority in climbing gear safety certification.

It is a dynamic (stretchy) climbing rope, it comes in all colours of the rainbow & different thicknesses, & it is good for climbing & rappelling.

The outer layer is the sheath, which protects the kermantle core. The core is made of thousands of individual strands. You will know it is time to retire ur rope when it gets spongy, lumpy, or if you're just rappelling it will become completely fuzzy. Some people just wait until the core bulges out through holes in the sheath.

Needless to say, ur rope should be good for years. especially since you're not lead falling on it, rather just static weight. Dynamic ropes r rated for a certain number of lead falls.
