many people can not. its next to IMPOSSIBAL you need to train for months and how expensive equipments. even with all this, you may not make it.

l think is really hard. considering the altittude is very high and and you could kill ur self by lack of oxygen, and u meight kill ur self.

hope l help

well, come people in y school ran up and down 3 floors of stairs, the equivalent of up, down and back up mount everest in 40 mins, but you have freezing cold weather, low supplies, its very exhausting, so pretty hard.

well it must be pretty hard becasue many people have died. but if u had professinal help u might be able to climb easier. only a few people have made it. good luck(if you were planing on climbing)

Very hard. It is strenuous. Not only do you have to train physically, but the conditions are difficult.even if you are in the best shape, the oxygen levels vary the farther you go up! But do it if you want! What an amazing experience to tell people, even if you do not make it to the top!!! Go for it!!!

l think mount everest is the hardest mountain to climb, many people have died trying. have u ever watched the show on discovery about mount everest they HATE it. one person said he trained by running around a track with 30lb of water on his back, you have to be in the best shape of your life

As many as 13 a year die trying. Some bodies are too far up to retrieve, so climbers have to go past them.

It is very hard and not many people can do it. Read this book, Into Thin Air, It will tell you all about the hardships that a climber has to endure.
aeroz     Reply with quote
ohhh uhm idk maybe since tons of people die trying. im guessing it might be a little hard!!!!

duhhhhh dumb question
Pink     Reply with quote
Unbeliavably hard!!! First of all you need to camp out for weeks at differant levels of the mountain to get use to the thin oxygen.

The biggest physical challenge for a climber is the altitude. Everest is not that much of a challenge when it comes to technical manuvering. These days a climber is best bet to reach the summit is go with a reputable guide, have skilled Sherpas on staff, and definately to have supplamentary oxygen. The amount of oxygen is less and less the higher you go above sea level. The other key to summiting Everst is luck, and lots of it.

Um, considering that the blind, halt, lame, wheelchair bound,
along with the utterly stupid that have previously paid Sherpas to help move their flabby buttocks up and down that peak l am pleased to answer the question. No, its not hard.
Just recently its ascent camps were cleaned by French paid Sherpas so the usual trash wo not be a hardship either. Pack
out your poo, please. K-2 and others are much harder.

Yes, it would be very hard.

it is hard .. well some times moving ur bags from store to home feels hard for people so u gotta define the word first.. but the fact r :
about 10% fatality ratio to summiter applies for Everest.( not 13''
its not the hardest mountain in the world but it is the highest one so the altitude will be a real problem even if u use supplementary oxygen. the temperatures r about -50 c in ur summit attempt ( highest part of the route to the summit) & ur body produces about half the heat that it does in ur home! even though Everest is not considered as a technical mount ( via normal stablished routes ) there r a lot of exposed sections in the route up & down & unfortunately most of the exposed parts r in the high altitudes ( this applies mostly for north route) when u r in no brain mode! there r dangers that u might cause like falling or freezing or fracturing a leg or arm or stabing ur self with some axy or crampons but also there r dangers out of ur control like an unpredictable storm wave or avalanche or rock fall or rope/equipment failure which might happen even u do every thing according to the book & having the best body shape. u have to survive & live & rest on ur own in mountain style for about two months.. some times u would feel down , sick , afraid , tired (most of the times!) & above all u may easily die . l was just trying to inform u alittle bit about the facts so u can answer ur question on ur own. have fun my friend

Since one is usually already in the mountains when one starts, let is assume one starts out at about 14,000 feet (most of the way to the top for most of the tallest mountains in the US). The air is already thin, it is dreadfully cold, & u have to lug all ur gear up more than 12,000 more feet. In distance alone this is equivalent to going up & down the aforementioned 3 flights of stairs 400 times (40 minutes? Yeah, right). It is even harder because it is all uphill & there r no steps, just uneven rock, snow & ice. All the way it is getting colder & the air is getting thinner. It gets difficult to concentrate. Mistakes r easy to make.

It is not the hardest climb in the world, but it is not to be taken lightly. l do not believe the claim that it is been made by a guy in a wheelchair. As great shape as the sherpas r in, there is no way they could actually carry a man the whole way.

It should be noted however, that the number of deaths is also due to the climbs popularity.
