I am looking for a comfortable pair of climbing shoes to do some indoor climbing, but l have flat feet. So far, all the shoes that l have tried have a very high arch and are very narrow shoes, so they are pretty uncomfortable. Any recommendations?

First of all, FYI, indoor climbing shoes r the same ones u use for outside.

As far as fit goes, l have wide feet & l like La Sportiva & 5'10.

Usually beginner shoes do not have the big arch like the more advanced styles do. Beginner shoes r cheaper too! Have u tried the 5'10 lace-ups? They r like the staple climbing shoe, they rent them out at all the gyms. Hey why not rent a pair ur first time & see how they fit?

Just keep trying shoes until u find one that fits u without too much pain. Understand that ur shoes will stretch a little with use, so they should be a little uncomfortable at first. however, do not let anyone tell u that ur climbing shoes should be 2 or 3 sizes below ur street shoes. It should be more like 1 size smaller. Sore feet will not help u climb any better!

Stay away from Scarpa climbing shoes, they tend to make the toe really pointed so there is like a huge arch, they look cool & u think 'yeah l am gonna be a shite hot climber in these' & then u stand up & u hear ur feet make an audible crack. Also stay away from Mad Rock as they r notoriously narrow. When l started off the club l was in had Red Chilli Sausalitos. Not the most technical shoes, not even the best shoes. But they were very comfortable even if l wore a pair a size too small, l think cause l could undo the lace & then relace them so that they were perfectly snug.
